I’ve put a few photographs of Esme over the years here:-
https://andysworld.org.uk/esme/
I’m sure Esme would like you to visit!
Scrumping – The act of stealing apples from a cider orchard. (The word comes from Scrumpy cider).
I’ve been eating plums from the plum tree in the garden, I noticed after this afternoons heavy down-pour, that apples and plums were falling off the trees this eve, so tested a few on the tree! Very Nice, I think they are Victoria Plums.
The ceilings downstairs in the lounge and dining rooms are now finished, the skirting boards and window sills are complete and we are now cleaning the house as we move-in later this month.
I’ve been removing the carpet, underlay and carpet grippers on the landing and bathroom, carpet grippers are nasty and one bit me on the finger! Why there’s carpet in the bathroom, nasty!
I’ll take the camera, on my next visit and take some more pictures of the bedrooms upstairs and the kitchen, and must take some pictures of the consumer unit for my Sparky Friend!
It’s been a very difficult weekend, with the loss of Esme, it’s been very quiet around the house, Esme would always “pop-up” at the window when we would arrived back at the house, as she recognised the car engine.
I think Esther keeps looking in her basket to check if Esme is there.
Lounge ceiling in the new house is painted with “One Coat” Crown white emulsion, we need to PVA the dining room ceiling, and paint it also, we’ve been waiting for the “damp patch” to dry! I’ve turned on the storage heaters this evening, as the whether has gone very cold, with the wet damp wind.
My partner has painted the skirting boards and window sills, whilst I pack my office, and de-cable all the network and server equipment for the move, which is now scheduled with the Removal Company for the 25 August 2006. The plasters have also completed work on the corner near the front door.
A few pictures of Esme and Esther a few years ago. Esme was five and a half years old when she died. She died of Aspiration pneumonia.
Unfortunately Esme will not be joining us in our New House.
Esmes condition worsened overnight and she died peacefully in her sleep.
We are devastated by her loss, she will be sadly missed, by Lindsey, Andy and Esther.
Bye Bye Esmo, love you, you will always be remembered in our hearts and minds.
The Vet confirmed after examining Esme this morning, that she is suffering from Aspiration pneumonia. To help her breath more easily she was given oxygen, late this afternoon, the oxygen was removed. She’s been kept in overnight for observation and agressive treatment for Aspiration pneumonia. We will be updated on her condition tomorrow morning. A sleepless night ahead! We are deeply concerned about her welfare, and hope she fights this illness.
Aspiration pneumonia (or aspiration pneumonitis) is caused by aspirating oral or gastric contents, either while eating, or after reflux or vomiting.

We’ve spent a few hours this evening, sealing the ceiling with PVA (4 parts water to 1 part PVA), to prevent us using gallons of matt emulsion, when we come to paint shortly. The ceiling in the dining room, is still a little damp, so we just completed the lounge area.

Wot No PVA, waiting for the ceiling to dry.
If you look carefully in the pictures you can see the reflection in the PVA on the ceiling. So it looks like it’s working!
I didn’t say, this blog was ever going to be exciting! Carpet fitters are booked to complete quotations for new carpet tomorrow (Thursday) and Saturday.
