Fish House Thermometer

Saturday, November 19th, 2011

I’ve been doing some fixing, the computer which controls, a few things in the fish house has been repaired. So I am able to remotely monitor Fish House Air temperatures, and also exterior temperatures again. Although the external temperature probe needs re-calibrating again!

Update: 20 Nov 11 Probe B re-calibrated – it should be reading correct now.

New HD Video: How to create a Windows Server 2003 virtual floppy boot disk using VMware vSphere 5.0

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

I do not have any floppy disks anymore, and as I’ve blogged many times, I don’t do the physical! Some System/Server Administrators seem to have forgotten the art of How to create a Windows Server 2003 boot disk, very useful to have if you’ve managed to corrupt the master boot record and cannot boot your OS, it’s not a big deal if you have a virtual server, you can create a virtual floppy to boot in minutes and recover your server, and service is restored, and why not leave the virtual floppy disk connected, it’s not causing any issues!

This step by step video How to create a Windows Server 2003 virtual floppy boot disk, demonstrates how to create a virtual floppy, format, copy the required files, and boot your server.

The Devil’s Arrows

Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011

For almost two years, I drove past these every week, but never had the chance until now, to get up close and personal with these pre-historic monoliths called the Devils Arrows!

Away from the office and computer yesterday to get some fresh air, and pass the time whilst the car was in for a MOT and service, (okay I did have my iPad and 3G wired into the Net!), I thought I would go for a wonder in the turnip field to visit these giant monoliths, considering the night before was Halloween, I did not notice any cult activity!

I think I’ve also sprained my left ankle, too much walking yesterday, some would say that’s because your too fat!, or just sit on your bum at a desk all day! (I thought I would get that in…..)

Anyway here are the photos….
