CTEK Car Battery Gadget Gizmo – CTEK CTX Battery Sense

Tuesday, July 30th, 2019

On the subject of car gadget gizmos I’ve been using a CTEK CTX Battery Sense Car Battery monitor for just under 1 Year now.

Available from Amazon here

this little gizmo attaches to the car battery and sends voltage and temperature information on the battery health via Bluetooth to a smart phone. The temperature is of the engine bay, not the battery. It just so happens on the 1 September 2018, I changed the battery in my car to a new Silver Bosch support mega battery with a 5 year guarantee. So I was interested in it’s health.

It stores all the graphs on your smartphone, this was the first time the battery was connected from new, so only had 60% charge, and gradually charged to 100% over a few days, when driving the car.

Trying to Grow Giant Pumpkins – 29 July 2019

Monday, July 29th, 2019

This giant pumpkin plant is taking over like a triffid! This spell of rain we’ve had in the past few days, it’s really grown!

It’s started to flower so I’ve been selecting flowers and hand pollinating to get it to fruit.

Processor Upgrade Sunday

Sunday, July 28th, 2019

This has been on my ToDo list for a while to upgrade the processor in my daily driver laptop. The laptop currently has a socketed Intel Core i7-2640M Dual Core 2.8GHz.

Intel Core i7-2640M Dual Core 2.8GHz.

Intel Core i7-2640M Dual Core 2.8GHz.

The only issue is this laptop only activates two memory DIMM slots with the current Dual Core processor so the maximum RAM is 16GB.

Time to upgrade to an Intel Core i7-2960XM Extreme Edition Quad Core 2.7GHz.

Bumble Bees

The Bumble Bees are enjoying the warm weather, it stated it was 33/34 degrees C in my car this morning! This is the third year I’ve had bumble bees, they arrived on the 4th July, and are doing much better, ordering them later than earlier in the year, with the Summer forage now available.

Andysworld! comes home!

Thursday, July 25th, 2019

It’s been just a little over 10 years ago that I migrated Andysworld! and all my hosting to the US, with

BUT – 20 days ago, I was left with

  • No hosting.
  • No email for 4 days.

There was no explanation of when it would return. So I’ve voted with my feet, and brought it all back to the UK, where I’ve been hosting with Krystal.co.uk since 2004, in one shape or form, when they acquired PurpleCloud!! (in 2011).

This is JustHost.com strapline – “Professional Web Hosting from Just Host – JustHost”

All I can say is…Just****.com.

So since I’ve  moved it all back, there maybe some teething issues…
