Willies Delectable Cacao – very good!

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

The final challenge on this weeks BBC’s The Apprentice, to be screened on Sunday 9pm BBC One, is to launch a new box of chocolates. Which has prompted me to rescue a draft post, I produced a few weeks ago, but never got around to publish it. Handmade by Willie Harcourt-Cooze from his factory in Devon, this new dark “chocolate” cacao, is dark chocolate without the bitter or sweet taste. Its called Willies Delectable Cacao. If you like proper chocolate (and I don’t mean Mars bars, KitKats or Snickers!) e.g. Lindt, Green and Blacks – you’ll love this, it’s very good. It’s 80g, and you get two bars, individually wrapped in gold foil, I would show you what it looks like, but I’ve eaten it already! But this is the packaging to look for in the Supermarkets.

Customer Service gone to the dogs!

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Back in April, I held a little competition between two high street shops, where items had failed and I returned it to their Head Office c/o Managing Director. Well Congratulations to Clarks Shoes, not only did they respond very quickly, they also provided a nice cheque and apologies for the inconvenience caused. All DSGi (businesses include Currys, Currys Digital, PC World, and Dixons Group Business Services.) could do was send me a nice standard letter from PC World Customer Services directing me back to the PC World Store, oh and arranging for the items to be returned to me (that was 3 weeks ago, and I’ve still not received the items), despite chasing them on their new 0844 telephone number which has already cost me £6.00!

So my advice the next time you want to purchase some computer equipment, and when it fails, expect it be replaced under the 12 month guarantee, because you can take it back to the shop, where purchased:-

Follow my simple four step guide.

1. Give the DSGi group a wide birth (this includes Currys, Currys Digital, PC World, and Dixons Group Business Services, PC World Business, MacWarehouse and Equanet, Pixmania.com, Electro World, Elko).

2. Don’t purchase any Adent rubbish. (because PC World will tell you to contact Advent if it goes wrong!)

3. If it develops a fault, throw it in the bin.

4. Better off purchasing from a market trader of eBay! (you’ll have the same level of difficulty getting a replacement or repair!)

Light touch paper and retire…..

Kingfisher Red

Kingfisher Red

Just found these beer bottle labels from our holiday in India. Good Memories! I’ve not seen Kingfisher Red in the UK, but believe me when I tell your it’s stronger than the white label! We also flew from Delhi to Chennai with Kingfisher Airlines, and they were fantastic. We were met by a porter in a red uniform at Dehli Airport, who put our bags onto a trolley, and then helped us onto a bus, and then we were met by another porter at another terminal, that carried out bags to checkin. Excellent Customer Service. I would fly Kingfisher Airlines again, I understand that Kingfisher Airlines may becoming to the UK, to fly direct to India in the future.
