Happy New Year 2015 Folks!
and I hope it’s a prosperous one!

Okay, I bought it for me!
I already own a few DACS, an Arcam Alpha Black Box DAC5, and two Cambridge Audio S700 ISOMagic, the later designed by John Westlake, of Pink Triangle fame, they do not support above 48KHz, (and they are also not portable!) so it was about time to purchase something new and fresh, which supports 88kHz, 96kHz, 176.4kHz and 192kHz
Enter the Cambridge Audio DacMagic XS USB DAC, which is an external offboard USB DAC for the computer (Windows PC or Apple MAC), also acts as a headphone amp as well, to drive those headphones correctly!
At present offers, more excellent value for money from Richer Sounds (just do not purchase from the Cardiff store – another blog tomorrow on that!).
I’ve just been listening to the excellent detail in Pink Floyd’s – The Endless River (on Spotify!)
I’ve been struggling with a dilemma for many years, on the distribution and needless spend on Christmas Cards at Christmas time each year, this also fueled by the increase costs in posting a Christmas card in the UK, currently – (1st Class letter stamp is 62p, and a 2nd Class letter stamp is 53p), I’ll not be adding to Royal Mail’s Profits this year!
After visiting many countries including Africa, Ethiopia, Nicaragua and India, where people in the world don’t have access to safe water. I’ve now made my decision.
This year, I will NOT be sending out Christmas Cards, and the money normally spent on cards and postage is being donated to Water Aid.
Please do not be offended if you do not receive a Christmas Card, but be joyous in the thanks, that the money has gone to provide safe drinking water to those in need, this Christmas!
Here is a virtual one instead….
and let me takes this opportunity to Wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, from Andy, Lindsey, Esther, Angus and Tilly!
A break from Yo Sushi this year….
We returned to Wolds Village, Manor Farm, Bainton, a regular haunt, but we’ve not been there for many years…
I had…
Creamy garlic mushroom pancake for Starters
Vegetable & nut roast with red wine sauce for Main
Toffee Pavlova
and two pints of Wolds Top Ale!
This is the desert I had on my birthday at Wolds Village. Highly Recommended by Andysworld!
and it was bloody smashing food!
