There be hippos here!!!

The reason for the new camera, and lack of blogs in the last month, Lindsey & I have been on holiday to Ethiopia and Kenya (more pictures later!), but in the meantime….

here’s a photograph of yours truly! (spot the hippo!?)

In Ethiopia, we visited Addis Ababa, Bahar Dar, Lake Tana, Gondar, Simien Mountains, Axum, Lalibela and Wendogenet

•  Tississat Falls – the source of the Blue Nile
•  Castles of Gondar
•  Spectacular scenery in the Simien Mountains
•  Stelae of Axum
•  Rock-hewn churches of Lalibela

In Kenya we visited Lake Elmenteita, Lake Nakuru, and spent several days in the Maasai Mara, on game drives, and hot air balloon ride across the planes of the  Maasai Mara.

I’ve been meaning to upload this for a while, it reminds me of the fantastic time we had in Japan, in March 2011. (be warned!). This was a clandestine recording of a few of the songs we sang! I did not notice the phone recording the event!

(i’ve also learnt a few more feartures of Adobe Premiere Pro!)

In Japan, everywhere on the streets, they have vending machines serving hot and cold drinks from the same machine, from Coca-Cola, coffee, tea, pancake syrup drinks and beer!

So you never short of a drink, anywhere you travel in Japan! (very handy if you have a Coca-Cola addiction!), and the umbrella I’m using was free, people leave them on buses and trains for the next person to pick and use. Now that’s Recycling! Very kind!

and that does say Calpis!

I spotted this on the Shinkansen (bullet train) in Japan in March! When was the last time you saw a nicely framed advertisement on a British Train! (and this was not in First Class!)
