Jack Frost visited last night

Thursday, December 21st, 2017

This short 5 minute 1080P HD clip was recorded at 8.30am on the 19 December, it’s not snow on the roads, it’s just a hard frost. It’s at approximately 30 feet above the ground.

Watch as I miss a telephone line by inches, and also look out for Angus!

It gives me an idea of the road conditions before driving to work…as the first two miles of driving in rural Yorkshire can be very hazardous as the roads are NOT gritted!

I’ve had a cold for a week, so not been feeling well enough to concentrate whilst flying…

Garden Casaulty of the Winter Frosts

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Yesterday we dug out a casualty of the hard winter frosts we had, where the ground remained frosted for many weeks, lots of garden Hebe’s around this area have died in the area due to the hard winter frosts. Lindsey was thinking of replacing it anyway, because it had grown too large and straggly.

Warning Frost Alert!!!

Saturday, May 9th, 2009

and because Jack Frost is coming to visit this evening (so says the weather forecast), I thought I better wrap up the potatoes, Blue-berry and goji-berry bushes. The problems with late frosts this time of year, is it damages the flowers on the Blue-berry bushes, and no flowers, no berries! It’s the moisture in the air around the plants that causes the problem when the temperature drops, and frost appears, so if you cover up the plants before darkness falls, this traps in the warm air – well that’s the theory!
